PCRClab

PCRClab is a decision-making laboratory operating in the University of Turku since 2008. It is used by social scientists, especially economists and political scientists. The laboratory was founded by a former research unit, the Public Choice Research Center, from which the laboratory inherits its name.

PRCRlab is part of the national research infrastructure, the Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO), which is funded by the Academy of Finland.  The laboratory is developed and maintained by the Department of Economics from Turku School of Economics and the Political Science Discipline from the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Researchers not affiliated with the University of Turku are also warmly welcome to use PCRClab. If you are interested in using the laboratory, you can contact Jere Jokinen at  or .

Facilities and equipment

The laboratory is located at Turku School of Economics, in lecture hall 31, and can accommodate up to 25 participants. Each participant has their own table and computer, with visual barriers between the tables to protect the privacy of decision-making.

Technically, the laboratory supports experiments conducted using software such as zTree and oTree, as well as experiments conducted via web browsers. The computers used are Dell OptiPlex 7480 all-in-one models. It is also possible to conduct experiments remotely through the laboratory.
