DMLab – Tampere University’s Decision-Making Laboratory
DMLab, Tampere University’s Decision-Making Laboratory, is an interdisciplinary research facility dedicated to the study of human decision-making. Established in 2021 as part of the Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO) project funded by the Academy of Finland, the laboratory operates under the Faculty of Management and Business the Department of Politics at Tampere University. DMLab collaborates with University of Turku PCRClab, Åbo Akademi Decision-Making Laboratory, and Helsinki LABBET.
DMLab warmly invites researchers from both academic institutions and public research organizations to engage in collaboration. Facilities and Participation
Our well-equipped laboratory, equipped with new All-in-one touch screen computers, is designed for both in-person and remote research studies. You can find our laboratory at University of Tampere Main builting, Kalevantie 4, Room D210, 33100 Tampere. Our laboratory can accommodate up to 20 participants per session.
In our research, we utilize platforms such as Qualtrics, Lime Survey, and Microsoft Forms for survey research, as well as Z-Tree and O-Tree for experimental games. We also provide participants with the opportunity for remote participation in our game experiments.
Currently, our participant database comprises approximately 1,900 individuals, with around 1,200 students among them. We continuously recruit additional participants, primarily from the Pirkanmaa region. Participants receive compensation for their involvement, which is specified in each participation invitation.
